Carbon-Neutral Construction Materials for Urban Infrastructure Renewal

Carbon-Neutral Construction Materials for Urban Infrastructure Renewal
This project seeks an industry partner to co-develop and trial next-generation low-carbon concrete and composite materials for use in urban infrastructure renewal projects. We have developed proprietary formulations using industrial by-products (fly ash, slag) that reduce embodied carbon by up to 60% compared to conventional concrete — and are now ready for real-world validation at scale.
- Conduct a 12-month field trial of low-carbon concrete formulations in live infrastructure projects
- Validate structural performance data to meet Australian Standards
- Develop a cost-benefit framework for industry adoption
- Publish peer-reviewed findings and a white paper for policy audiences
- 1Field trial dataset with full structural and durability performance metrics
- 2Cost-benefit and lifecycle analysis report
- 3Peer-reviewed journal article
- 4Industry-ready material specification sheets
- 5Policy brief for federal and state government audiences
Successful commercialisation of low-carbon construction materials with potential to reduce embodied carbon across the Australian construction sector. Joint grant application to ARC Linkage Program with strong co-funding prospects. IP co-ownership available for the right partner.
